DISTRICT ENGINEER APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED BY SECRETARY BROWN
SPRINGFIELD, IL -- Illinois Transportation Secretary Kirk Brown
today announced the appointment of five district engineers to oversee highway
operations in various areas around the state. The new engineers have more than
100 years of combined transportation experience.
The appointments include the first two women to serve as District
Engineers in the Department's history.
Gregg Mounts of Ottawa was appointed District 2 Engineer for 12
counties in northwestern Illinois, with headquarters in Dixon. He
replaces Roger Rocke who is retiring at the end of the year. Mounts
is a Civil Engineer and was previously the Program Development
Engineer for District 3, Ottawa. He has been with IDOT since 1980.
Diane O'Keefe of Joliet was appointed District 3 Engineer for 11
counties in east central Illinois with headquarters in Ottawa. She
replaces Jim Jereb who is retiring at the end of the year. O'Keefe
is a Civil Engineer and was previously Engineer of Program
Development for District 1, Schaumburg. She has been with IDOT for
21 years.
Chris Reed of Springfield was appointed District 6 Engineer for
15 counties in west central Illinois with headquarters in
Springfield. She is a Civil Engineer and was previously Bureau Chief
of Statewide Program Planning in the Office of Planning and
Programming. She replaces Vic Modeer who has been appointed District
8 Engineer. Reed has been with IDOT for 13 years.
Vic Modeer of Glen Carbon was appointed District 8 Engineer for
10 counties in southwestern Illinois with headquarters in
Collinsville. He replaces Bruce Dinkheller who is retiring at the
end of the year. He is a Civil Engineer and was previously District
6 Engineer. Modeer has been with IDOT for 16 years.
Tom Zerrusen of Teutopolis was appointed District 9 Engineer for
13 counties in southern Illinois with headquarters in Carbondale. He
replaces Karl Bartelsmeyer who is retiring at the end of the year.
Zerrusen is a Civil Engineer and was previously Engineer of Project
Implementation in District 7, Effingham. He has been with IDOT for
32 years.
All of the appointments are effective January 1, 2003.
