Scenic Byways Map Released to Kick-Off Illinois National Scenic Byway Week

The Office of Planning and Programming is pleased to present the Illinois Scenic Byways map during Illinois National Scenic Byway Week, October 6-13.

With the coordination of the seven Illinois Scenic Byways and the Illinois Department of Tourism, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Office of Planning and Programming has created an Illinois Scenic Byways map.

All along the Illinois Scenic Byways you can experience, endless summer adventures, signature festivals, fun-filled autumn drives, and many outdoor activities including winter eagle watching at its finest.  After viewing this map you may find that your next trip is right here in Illinois.

An electronic version of the map can be found on the IDOT web site under Travel Illinois Maps http://www.dot.il.gov/byways_map/default.aspx .  This offers many user-friendly features to help you plan your next road trip.  It features hyperlinks and unique smart phone capabilities.  You can also print 8 ½ x 11 sections of the map. 

An Interactive Map link takes you to the “Getting Around Illinois” web page.  Here you can zoom in and out or click on a point of interest to view more information.  There is also a link to order the paper version of this map via contacting one of the seven Illinois Byways.
