JEFFERSON COUNTY -- Illinois 15 at the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad
crossing southwest of Woodlawn, and west of Mt. Vernon, will be closed to all
traffic at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29th, for crossing repairs.
The railroad will be replacing the existing crossing with new concrete panels
and asphalt approaches. The crossing is expected to be reopened Thursday
evening, May 30th. A marked detour will be set-up directing traffic
around the crossing.
The Department of Transportation and the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe
Railroad will make every effort to minimize any inconvenience to motorists.
Please use caution, reduce your speed, and allow extra travel time through this
construction zone.
