PARIS, IL. -- Resurfacing the Interstate 74 interchange ramps at St. Joseph
is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 23, weather permitting. This work is
expected to be done during five different nights between the hours of 9:00 p.m.
and 5:00 a.m. The ramps will be closed to traffic for this work.
Motorists will need to use alternate routes. Suggested alternates are the
interchanges at IL 49 (Ogden) and US 150 at University Avenue in Urbana. This
work is part of the on-going rehabilitation of I-74 between Urbana and Ogden.
No work will be done during the Memorial Day Holiday weekend.
Motorists are cautioned that during construction, I-74 from Urbana to Ogden
(Mile Markers 185 to 196) will periodically be reduced to one-lane traffic. The
ramps at St. Joseph will be closed to traffic. Motorists are also reminded to
slow speeds in work zone areas and to be alert for workers and machinery.
Contractor for this project is University Construction Company.
