HALSTED STREET ENTRANCE & EXIT RAMPS SCHEDULED TO
CLOSE
FOR NORTHBOUND I-57 MOTORISTS ON MONDAY, APRIL 14th
SCHAUMBURG,IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation today
announced the scheduled closure of two ramps on I-57 beginning
Monday morning, April 14, as part of the ongoing rehabilitation work
underway on the northbound lanes of the expressway.
Weather permitting, the Halsted Street entrance and exit ramps
will be closed to northbound traffic for approximately four weeks.
Both existing ramps will be torn out and undergo complete
reconstruction.
In addition to these new temporary closures, the 127th Street
exit ramp on northbound
I-57 remains closed due to construction through the end of
October.
Further ramp closures and openings for northbound I-57 motorists
will continue through the summer as pavement patching, bridge deck
reconstruction and road resurfacing work is completed throughout the
12 mile stretch of I-57 between I-80 and Halsted Street.
While construction is underway, motorists are advised to
anticipate delays, adjust their travel routes as necessary, and to
slow down and exercise caution when traveling through the I-57
construction zone.
