You are invited to attend a Public Hearing held by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) concerning Interstate 55, from Interstate 80 to Weber Road, in Will County. The Public Hearing (open house format), will take place on : Wednesday, December 14, 2005 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Plainfield Village Hall Village of Plainfield 24000 West Lockport Street Plainfield, IL 60544. Purpose of the Hearing: · To discuss the purpose and need for the improvement. · To present the proposed staged and ultimate improvement plans. · To obtain public comment. The proposed scope of work includes providing a third through lane in both directions within the above limits of the Interstate. An audio-visual presentation will be shown every half-hour with the last showing at 6:30 PM. Exhibits will be on display with IDOT personnel available to discuss the project and to answer questions. The Division of Highways will process any permits that may be required within the designated floodways of the project limits. The Environmental Class of Action Determination Document, as well as information addressing the Department's land acquisition policies, will be available for inspection at the hearing and prior to the hearing at the District One Office.
