| KEWANEE, IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation
will hold an informational open house in Kewanee on August 5
to discuss the proposed improvement of Illinois 81 and Illinois
78.
The open house will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday,
August 5, at the City Hall building, 401 E. Third St., in
Kewanee. The public is invited to attend at any time during
the meeting hours. There will be no formal presentation.
The purpose of the open house is to discuss the improvement
of IL 81 from Lexington St. to IL 78, and the improvement
of IL 78 from 7th St. to 5th St. in Kewanee, and to receive
public input on the proposals. The project includes new pavement
and curb and gutter on IL 81 and resurfacing and new curb
and gutter on IL 78, and adding left-turn lanes on both highways.
Maps and displays will be available for public review and
IDOT personnel will be on hand to discuss the project and
answer questions.
The meeting site is accessible to disabled individuals, who
are encouraged to use the north entrance. Anyone needing special
