Collinsville, IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation
(IDOT) will hold a public informational meeting in the City of Grafton,
Illinois, on June 5 to discuss the rehabilitation of Illinois Route
3.
The informational meeting will be held from 4 to 7
p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the St. Patrick Church Hall, 11 N.
Evans, in Grafton.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed
rehabilitation of Illinois Route 3 in Jersey County and to receive
public input on the proposal. The proposed improvements extend along
Illinois Route 3 from east of Grafton Hills Road to west of the
intersection of Illinois Route 3 and Illinois Route 109 for a total
project length of 6 miles. The project will include widening and
resurfacing of the roadway to provide wider lanes and shoulders
along with drainage improvements.
Handouts and display boards will be available for
public review, as will information regarding engineering, land acquisition,
and environmental issues. Representatives from IDOT and the consultant
Bucher, Willis, and Ratliff Corporation will be available to discuss
the project and answer questions. The meeting will be an open house
format, therefore, no formal presentation will be made.
Interested persons may comment for the record in
writing (a comment form will be provided), or verbally using an
available tape recorder. Comments may also be mailed or faxed to
