Ottawa, IL, May 3, 2011 – The Illinois Department of
Transportation has announced that Interstate 80 in the vicinity of the I 180
Interchange is scheduled for sign truss work to begin on Tuesday, May 3, 2011.
On the night of May 3, 2011, the Contractor plans to remove and replace sign
trusses over the interstate. The interstate traffic will be stopped for 15
minutes to allow the removal or erection of the sign truss.
A $312,767.85 contract has been awarded to GFS Fence, Guardrail & Signage,
Inc. of Huntley, IL for the project which includes repairs, removal and
replacement of overhead sign structures. All work on the project is expected to
be complete by summer, 2011.
Motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution when traveling through or
near the work zone.
