The Division of Highways and its nine district offices are responsible
for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the state highway
system and the administration of the state's local roads and streets program.
The state highway system of 17,000 miles includes 2,050 miles of interstate
roads. This is part of the 138,000-mile network of state, county, municipal,
township and toll roads--the third largest system in the nation. |
