| In response to the highway industry’s strong interest and to
encourage maximum competition and enhance the capabilities of socially
and economically disadvantaged businesses to perform highway
construction projects, the Illinois Department of Transportation
developed a Construction Mentor-Protégé Program (Program) that was approved by the
Federal Highway Administration on September 12, 2006.
This is a pilot program that started in April 2007. |
