The IDOT Pavement Technology Advisories (PTAs) are now available online! Compiled by the Bureau of Materials and Physical Research (BMPR), these short informational documents cover a wide variety of topics pertinent to highway engineering at IDOT.

The PTAs are categorized into three main topic groups: 1. Design, Construction, and Materials; 2. Maintenance, Repair, and Rehabilitation; and 3. Testing and Data Collection. In this way, topics of interest from each stage of a typical highway’s life-cycle are represented.

Each PTA also contains information on who to contact to learn more about a topic. The PTAs provide a valuable resource to anyone interested in highway engineering, and can be particularly useful to highway agency personnel responsible for planning, designing, building, and/or maintaining roads.
