Introduction The FY 2013-2018 Proposed Multimodal Transportation Improvement Program from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is being introduced in a new format, entitled Transforming Transportation for Tomorrow. This new approach is designed to improve the communications of IDOT’s multi-year program and is intended to reinforce and improve understanding of the multi-modal nature of transportation in Illinois. This inaugural publication introduces IDOT’s FY 2013-2018 Proposed Highway Improvement Program, the latest multi-year program for the statewide system of roads and bridges. The document also includes current Proposed Multi-Year Program information for Public Transportation (FY2013-2017), Rail (FY 2013-2017), and Aeronautics (FY 2013-2015). All four programs are presented within the document, to help Illinois transportation stakeholders understand and access multi-modal program information in a seamless and transparent way.
