Governor Pat Quinn issued Executive Order 11 on April 22, 2009. Executive Order 11 was issued to Reduce the Environmental Impact of Illinois State Operations.
Green Initiatives Brochure - A brochure that was developed to inform the motoring public of IDOT’s various green and sustainable initiatives. It has been placed in rest areas, welcome centers and other IDOT buildings throughout the state of Illinois.
E85 Biodiesel Station Locations Brochure - A brochure that details which fueling stations in Illinois provide alternative fuels such as E85 and Biodiesel. It has been placed in rest areas, welcome centers and other IDOT buildings throughout the state of Illinois.
Rain Barrel Display - This is the 3 prong-poster rain barrel display that has been used at the Turtle Creek Welcome Center in IDOT’s District 2 , which is on the border of Illinois and Wisconsin. Turtle Creek became the first welcome center/rest area in the state of Illinois to have rain barrels installed to conserve water. The 3 prong-poster display was placed inside of the Welcome Center in order to inform and educate visitors to the sustainable benefits of rain barrels.
IDOT’s State Fair Green Initiatives Display - This display is a combination of previous green displays and brochures which illustrates most of IDOT’s green and sustainable initiatives.
Stormwater Runoff Pollution - A brochure that explains the hazards of storm water runoff pollution and tips on how to reduce it.
Turtle Creek Welcome Center’s Sustainable Cleaners Placard - A placard that has been placed at the Turtle Creek Welcome Center which explains and educates visitors as to the types of “green cleaners” that it uses and the sustainable and health benefits they provide.
