How to find the item number of a job with only a contract number at hand:   Navigate to the Letting and Bidding Information page, located at http://www.dot.il.gov/desenv/delett.html.   Click on the Letting link of your choice.   Click on the “Plans and Proposals” link on the Letting page.   Under the “Edit” option on your toolbar, click on “Find (on This Page)…”   In the “Find” pop-up box, type in the contract number of the job you’re searching for.   Click on “Find Next”   The results of your search will be highlighted on the “Plans and Proposals” page.   To the right of the highlighted contract number, you will locate the 3-digit item number of that particular job.
