Application Process Re-Opened for 2012 Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program On behalf of Governor Pat Quinn, Illinois Department of Transportation’s Secretary Ann L. Schneider recently announced the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) application process will be reopened in February. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) intends to establish a bi-annual application process following the same basic schedule for each application cycle.
IDOT has updated the on-line application process which will improve efficiency for both IDOT and the public. Project sponsors who submitted an on-line ITEP application in 2010 will be required to re-submit a new application, but as part of the online updates applications submitted in 2010 can be copied and updated for the 2012 application process. Alcohol-Related Motor Vehicle Fatalities
On the Decline in Illinois The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) today released
crash data showing a continual reduction in the number of
alcohol-impaired motor vehicle fatalities in Illinois from 2006
through 2010. The measure of alcohol impairment involves at least
one driver with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher, or
beyond the legal blood-alcohol limit in Illinois. IDOT and law
enforcement agencies statewide are partnering this holiday season to
boost safety and continue the fight against impaired driving.
