Starting in Spring 2010, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
and the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) will begin four projects to
improve the Interstate 290 Expressway, Congress Parkway Bridge and Wacker Drive:
- Interstate 290 Resurfacing--Thorndale to Circle Interchange (IDOT)
- Congress Parkway Bridge Rehabilitation (IDOT)
- Wacker Drive Reconstruction (CDOT)
- Congress Parkway Improvement (CDOT)
The projects will begin in spring 2010 and will last through 2012. Each
project will greatly benefit motorists and pedestrians. Both IDOT and CDOT are
working closely to minimize the traffic impact of each project.
